There is an amazing book by Frederick Lewis Allen called Only Yesterday written in 1931 which examines the decade of the 1920s in great detail. It is an depth analysis of the 1920s from an author with an uncanny ability to retell history. You may want to disagree but there is a chapter in the book called Home, Sweet Florida that if one didn't see the date, could be published today in the Orlando Sentinel.
